My Last and Final layout

Well, my time at Child's Play has come to an end. Today was the last layout for that DT. Where did the last year go?? Sheesh! I still remember the page I sent in last summer for the DT call! *tears* Anyway, this week's inspo was:

This was actually a really hard one for me because I don't let my children play with scissors! So I didn't have any pics of them with scissors! So, I decided to use one of the animals on the scissors and go from there.

My poor baby girl was terrified of that ducky tub! Yes, I am that mom that takes a pic of the sad/scared face and THEN helps the baby out! haha We never figured out what it was that made her so scared of the ducky tub, but as soon as she was out of it, bath time was back to being all smiles and giggles! My son loved that tub when he was that age, but my daughter-not so much. lol!

Don't forget Child's Play Challenges is having a DESIGN TEAM CALL. Head over there and find out how you can be on one of the coolest DT's out there! Deadline is July 30th.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to follow me if you haven't done so already! I am hoping to add a few more DT to my scrap resume in the future, so stick around and follow along!

A Few New Ones

I have been scrapping away this weekend! I keep a list of layouts I need to get done, and that list was growing and growing. I ran across a few DT calls this week, Sketchabilities and Simple Sketches and decided to give them a try as well. If you haven't done so, head over to these blogs and give them a try as well! Anyway, let's get to the pages!

First up is a page a made using Sketch #94 from Sketchabilities.

Here is the sketch:
and here is my spin on it!
Seriously, how adorable is that lifejacket?!

Next up is based on a sketch from Simple Sketches
I love that is has 3 photos on the sketch because I typically only scrap 1 or 2 pics on a page. So it was nice to try to put 3 on the page!
Kylee was the funniest little thing at her first Easter Egg hunt. She didn't understand that you had to walk over to the egg and pick it up at first. She just stood there starting at it! ha!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to follow me so you don't miss out on all of my layouts! I love to participate in challenges, so you may run across a challenge you haven't heard of by following me! :)

TPB Sketch #7

Ok, so it is not huge surprise that I am obsessed with The Paper Bakery 's monthly scrapbook kits. I mean, I have 2 subscriptions (scrapbook and mixed media)! Sarah is just simply amazing and talented with the mixing and matching of papers, embellies, mists, and so on. They are worth every shiny penny. Anyway, the very talented Juliana creates some awesome sketches, and of course #7 did not disappoint!

And here is my layout!

and here a few of the close ups of the page. This one came together rather quickly as well, but that is just how awesome Juliana's sketches are!

Seriously, how cute is that pink bow? I love it! Also, I am normally scared of vellum. What to do with it? How to adhere it to a page? But I decided to cut a cute little arrow out of the striped vellum page (from the May kit at TPB) with my Cameo and I think it gives the title a nice little touch! Vellum is actually pretty awesome!

No layout is complete without a little piece of TPB flair!

I was loving this fringe cut from the Silhouette store. It actually looked a lot better on the page than I envisioned! A few little tears, crumples and ink and voila!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to follow me! The little box is ---> right over there! :)

Baby Curls

My Scraps & More Sketches  has an amazing sketch on their blog this week! Sketch #36 was perfect and exactly what I was looking for! I had this picture of Kylee that I couldn't wait to scrap, I just didn't know what I really wanted to do with it. I knew I wanted to use The Paper Bakery Kit  from June, but no real idea how to attack the picture with the supplies. Then, I saw it..Sketch #36 and I thought "ah ha!" I knew it was the perfect sketch when it only took me about 2 hours from start to finish! I didn't sit around 2nd guessing my  placement of embellies/etc like I usually do. It just all came together nicely and quickly!

I am obsessed with those arrows! I want more!

Thanks for stopping by!

Horseshoe challenge

It is another challenge over at Child's Play Challenges! This week it is a classic game challenge. The classic game is horseshoes. My family used to play horseshoes outside during family gatherings, such as holidays or pool parties a looong time ago! It was mostly an adult game of horseshoes because the children were usually swimming or playing. Anyway, when I think of horseshoes, I think of cowboys! I used a sketch and kit from The Paper Bakery!

Here is the inspiration:

and here is my layout:

I used one of the wooden chevrons as a stamp, and stamped it around the page, as well as painting the chevrons with my gold stamp pad. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

Neon!

Who doesn't love loud neon colors? I know I do! Let's Get Trendy is hosting a challenge, and the day 1 is NEON! That is such a weird little word! Anyway, I just happened to have a collection by Amy Tan that is full of neon colors! Sketchbook collection!

Now, I must say that I had no idea how to even begin this layout. It took me a few days to actually begin, and a few days of just staring at a picture and paper. Then, I had a HORRIBLE day. Today! Everything was going wrong! Of course something just HAD to happen to my layout just as the juices were flowing...I spilled a bottle of orange mist all over it. Of course it had to cover my last piece of neon pink paper. I managed to save it by placing the bright orange spot with my picture! ha! It is not where I planned on placing the picture, but I guess the orange mist wanted to help me out! Luckily, the majority of the mist splattered on the white paper, which we all know are so easily accessible. You can see a few of the orange spots on the pink paper. Let's just pretend that I meant to put them there. ;)

Not my favorite layout, but hey it is different than my usual style which is always nice! Thanks for stopping by!
