Tin Robot

This week's challenge at Child's Play Challenges is a Classic Toy Challenge! The toy for inspiration was a tin robot!

My children don't play with toy robots, so I had to really think outside of the box on this one. I chose to take the belly of the robot and turn it into a sketch! I also used the colors from the robot on my layout as well.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all of the challenges at Child's Play Challenges!

PURPLE!

Boy has it be a WHILE since I actually scrapped! We finally moved to Hawaii and received our first shipment of household goods! Which means, I received my scrap stuff! *Cheers* YAY! We also built a new scrap desk that holds all of my crafty stuff including the desktop! The main goal was to get the Cameo and the desktop on the same desk with plenty of space, and I must say it is AWESOME! (I will have to post a pic another day.) All of my previous pages were all done around the same time, which was months ago!

Anywhoo...
Let's get to why you are here in the first place! Child's Play Challenges of course! This week for the wonderful team A was a Storybook Challenge. A story I have never heard of, but that wasn't going to stop the creative juices!

My daughter's new favorite color is purple. Purple purple PURPLE! I knew I just HAD to scrap her!
(The sun is a bit harsh in Hawaii) This is a picture of my daughter at our old house in Charleston. The yard was huge and boy did she love to just run run run! She was a little over a year in this picture, but it is one my faves! I must admit it is a little sad seeing her with barely any hair in this pic. She has a head full now!

I obviously chose to use the color purple from the book as my inspiration for this page. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers #238 that was created by the wonderful Juliana! The butterflies were made from the paint sample cards from Lowe's! Yes, I did leave a few at the store for the people who really wanted to buy paint! hehe!

I am ready to see what you all create and don't forget to link up at Child's Play Challenges! Thanks for stopping by!

Final First Term Team Challenge!

I am sad to say that my first term at Child's Play Challenges is officially over. :( I had a blast designing for Tiffany and look forward to another term with her and the rest of the amazing ladies on the team! This was my first design team and it is truly a blast!! I will be back for another term because Tiffany hasn't got rid of me just yet! ;) This week was a  classic story book challenge.

The inspiration:
I personally know nothing about this book. Also, it rarely snows in Charleston! So, I was a bit stuck on what to do with this one, but luckily I dug up some of Kylee's first Christmas pictures! What do ya know, she had on penguin in snow pjs! Sweet!

My layout:
I used the red background and added a few snowflakes for embellishments. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but it is tough to create snowy layouts without snow! This book reminded me of Christmas time because of the snow, so I went with a Christmasy page. Also, Kylee has on a red hat in the pictures. ;) I also used a Creative Scrappers sketch for this one, it was #235!

Well, it has been a fun run over at Child's Play and I look forward to the next design teams in my future! Head over to CPC and join in on the fun! It is my last DT page (for this term) so you must participate!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Blog Hop!

*Waves hello* Hi all! If you are joining me from the Child's Play Challenges blog hop, then you are in the right place! I personally enjoy blog hopping on other blogs, so it is fun to actually be part of one myself! This blog hop was focused on presents under our tree. My daughter recently became obsessed with Cinderella and we watch the movie every single day. I can practically quote it by now! She also loves baby dolls! She already owns one of these baby dolls (Ariel) but I decided I was going to get her the Cinderella one too since that is her fave princess. So my inspiration is...
Kylee was Princess Peach from Super Mario Bros last year for Halloween, and so I thought this was the perfect picture to use! I used  Creative Scrappers #233 sketch for this page. I didn't use the traditional orange and black Halloween colors for this page, and I think that is why I like it so much! I like when I can steer away from the traditional holiday colors because I don't want all of their holiday pictures to use the same colors every year. This was the perfect inspiration and the perfectcollection (Echo Park Little Girl) for this picture!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to hop to the next blog and enjoy the hop!

Gingerbread House

This week at Child's Play Challenges was a craft challenge. I love crafts! This one was fun because it helped bring back the memories of my family putting together our first gingerbread house! My kid's absolutely love that tradition now! I think they like eating the candy as they decorate the house the most!

Inspiration:

I used a sketch for this one as well, but I can't remember where I got it! I saw it and mental noted and it when I went back to find it, I couldn't remember which blog I found it on! Clearly, I follow way too many scrap blogs! Ha!

Don't forget to join us at Child's Play Challenges and play along!

Apples to Apples

This week at Child's Play Challenges was a game challenge. The game used for inspiration was Apples to Apples.

Inspiration:

I personally have never played this game, but it looks like it might be fun! I thought the front of the box made a great sketch! I really liked the big yellow circle on the box, so I just went with that! I used a sketch that I got from Scrap a Little Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join us over at Child's Play!!
