Horseshoe challenge

It is another challenge over at Child's Play Challenges! This week it is a classic game challenge. The classic game is horseshoes. My family used to play horseshoes outside during family gatherings, such as holidays or pool parties a looong time ago! It was mostly an adult game of horseshoes because the children were usually swimming or playing. Anyway, when I think of horseshoes, I think of cowboys! I used a sketch and kit from The Paper Bakery!

Here is the inspiration:

and here is my layout:

I used one of the wooden chevrons as a stamp, and stamped it around the page, as well as painting the chevrons with my gold stamp pad. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Neon!

Who doesn't love loud neon colors? I know I do! Let's Get Trendy is hosting a challenge, and the day 1 is NEON! That is such a weird little word! Anyway, I just happened to have a collection by Amy Tan that is full of neon colors! Sketchbook collection!

Now, I must say that I had no idea how to even begin this layout. It took me a few days to actually begin, and a few days of just staring at a picture and paper. Then, I had a HORRIBLE day. Today! Everything was going wrong! Of course something just HAD to happen to my layout just as the juices were flowing...I spilled a bottle of orange mist all over it. Of course it had to cover my last piece of neon pink paper. I managed to save it by placing the bright orange spot with my picture! ha! It is not where I planned on placing the picture, but I guess the orange mist wanted to help me out! Luckily, the majority of the mist splattered on the white paper, which we all know are so easily accessible. You can see a few of the orange spots on the pink paper. Let's just pretend that I meant to put them there. ;)

Not my favorite layout, but hey it is different than my usual style which is always nice! Thanks for stopping by!

Stitching!

I have signed up and joined the Let's Get Trendy challenge! Day 4 of the challenge was stitching. I was amazed at all of the different ways people incorporate stitching on their projects! I chose to hand stitch on my layout! I also stitched on the chevrons under the picture. :) I struggled with this page because I wanted to use this picture with the Bo Bunny Key Lime collection but it was not coming together for me! After about 3 days or so, it finally came together.

For this one, I cut a sun with my cameo and used it as a template to create this stitched sun! It turned out better than I expected!

I really hate sewing with my machine because I can't get the tension right and it always looks like this! Boo! But this one was a very small piece so I wasn't too worried about it. I need to figure out the tension for paper so I can have a pretty stitched line!

The Paper Bakery Sketch #5!

I have been slacking on The Paper Bakery sketches! I think I used 1 or two of the previous ones for DT work and couldn't share them before a certain date! So, I had to miss out on those challenges! But, this time I am able to participate! It was such a cool sketch by Juliana ! I also sent this page in for the Bo Bunny design team call! I will have to make another post for my other work for that. Anyway, on to the sketch!

I am obsessed with the little banners right now, so I had to jump on this one! Here is my layout:

Radio Flyer

There is another challenge happening at Child's Play Challenges right now! It is a classic toy challenge and this is inspiration:
A Radio Flyer wagon!

We actually have the new generation version of the Radio Flyer. We bought it to pull the kids around the zoo a few years ago, and that thing has been handy! We would pull them on our daily walks around the neighborhood and everything! Worth the money! On to the reason you hopped over to my blog!

My son was pulling my husband and daughter up and down the sidewalk when he was about 4 years old. He   actually pulled then for a while! Little trooper!

I used Juliana Michaels technique on my title. She recently posted about cutting the title multiple times and gluing them all together (one on top of the other) to create dimension to the title. I LOVE this idea. I use it quite a bit now. I love the chipboard feel it gives the title, even if it's not really chipboard!
This layout was based on sketch #30 from My Scraps and More Sketches. Love their sketches!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by Child's Play Challenges and join the fun!
