The Infamous Cozy Coupe

Over at Child's Play Challenges they are having a Classic Toy Challenge and the toy for inspiration was the Cozy Coupe! That is the absolute favorite toy in this house. Both of my kids have their very own coupe and they are different colors so they can't fight over them! Every time we are outside in the beautiful Carolina sunshine the coupes are out and rolling down the sidewalk. I am pretty sure "cozy coupe" was actually one of Kylee's first words! Not kidding.

If you don't know what a cozy coupe is, this is what one looks like:

Ours are slightly different, but they are mainly the same thing. Ours has a cute smiley face on the front with big eyes. I can't express the love my kids have for this one toy! I have TONS of pictures with them in their coupes!

I chose to scrap a pic of my baby girl Kylee in her pink and blue coupe. Her face is priceless in the photo!

I went a little simple on this one because I wanted the focus to be on the photo. I used Echo Park mixed collections for this one! How cute is my little hairless baby? She sure has a head full now!

I pop dotted the car and a few cameras that I fussy cut out of some patterned paper for a little dimension. I love dimension. I also did a little sewing on this one because I haven't sewn on a page in a while and I was starting to get the sewing twitch.

Thanks for stopping and looking at my page!

Slip and Slide

The super cool blog Child's Play Challenges is having a design team call and one of the requirements was to create layout using this toy as inspiration.

My children personally never owned one of these toys because the popping noise can drive one crazy! But, it is a cute toy and has been around for as long as I can remember. I chose to use the colors as the inspiration for my layout. As soon as I saw the red wheels, blue handle, and yellow balls, I knew I had the perfect pictures. I used Creative Scrappers sketch #205 for this layout.

Head on over to Child's Play Challenges and play along! :)

First Trick or Treat Experience

A few years ago Ryan had his very first trick or treating experience. It was amazing. For me. I guess him too. :) I didn't think I could enjoy a "creepy" and "scary" holiday as much as I do! Halloween has become one of my absolute favorite holidays and I have my children to thank. If it was not for them, I don't think I would decorate my house, think of cool costumes all year, and fight the crazies at Wal-Mart for all of the 50% decor the following day. But, I do. I love every minute of it. I love October and secretly wish one of my babies were born in that month. But, we can't choose those things in life and I will enjoy my spring/summer babies.

Ryan was 2 years old when we first attempted the trick or treating thing because I wanted him to actually talk to the neighbors and say "trick or treat." Well, Ryan was a late bloomer in the language department and chose to say all of 3 words by the time he was 2. (Thankfully his birthday was in June which left us a ton of time to teach him to say "trick or treat." He managed to learn it just in time and it was the absolute cutest thing to see my Buzz Lightyear say it! He was extremely, and I mean extremely obsessed with Toy Story at the time. So, he chose to be Buzz and I talked his little friend's mother in dressing him up as Woody. Perfect. It was a perfect Halloween.

It took me forever to find the perfect papers and the perfect sketch for these pictures. I actually went outside of my comfort zone and tried a new manufacturer! I used Oct.31 by Fancy Pants Designs and I am a fan! I think I will start purchasing more of their collections!

Okay, enough chit chat on with the pics!

I got the sketch over at Creative Scrappers because their sketches are amazinggg. (Sketch #212) Here is my take on it!

The colors from this collection matched his little costume perfectly!

I attached the spider to some twine and let him just hang from his "web." It is cool that he can move around on the page and bring a sense of movement to the page; my son thought thought this was awesome!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Found the perfect sketch

I finally found the perfect sketch for Kylee's smash cake photos! Of course, Bo Bunny just knew her first birthday was pink/teal/purple. They created the perfect collection for these photos! I used the Sweet Tooth collection for this page. I also got this sketch from Boys Rule blog, and I know I know, shes a girl BUT this layout screamed smash cake photos.

I told you it was the perfect sketch! I fussy cut the little flowers, oven mitt and mixer from a few of the pages. It is probably one of my fave things to do. I also pop dotted the flowers and oven mitt for a little dimension.

My next layout is a few pictures of my baby  boy. It is insane how fast he grew up! It makes me sad to think he will be 4 years old in 7 days! I made a page letting him know that no matter how much he grows, he will ALWAYS be my baby. I also used a sketch from Boys Rule. :)

I used the Boy's Life collection by Echo Park. LOVE this collection! The star sticker in the corner is pop dotted. I know I know, I pop dot at least one embellishment on every page. I am addicted.

I am glad that I used a few pictures on each layout because Shutterfly just HAD to email me a code for 101 free prints. (Seriously? Like I don't have enough to scrap already?!) I just couldn't pass it up. That means I have to get in gear and get some scrapping done so I will be ready for a new set of pictures! I only have over 50 too many layouts left for Kylee's first year. Yikes!

Until next time,
